Halstrom High School graduates attend college and universities across the country and abroad such as Stanford, Columbia, UCLA, Duke, and the London School of Business, to name a few. Halstrom is accredited just like traditional high schools, and our courses are UC/CSU and NCAA-approved. Unlike other schools, however, our students have the planning and support resources available to them to ensure they successfully navigate the college application process and are accepted into the schools of their dreams.

College Counseling
College counseling sessions are included as part of full-time student enrollment and offered to part-time students. At sessions, our school directors walk students and families through the entire process including course selection, application, scholarship assistance, career development, and extracurricular opportunity references.
College/Career Exploratory
This required one semester course allows students to research their options following high school graduation. Attention is given to using the Internet as a resource for research. College and career bound students will match options to personality traits, compose a resume, and develop interviewing skills. Students research colleges and/or careers that best "fit" each student's personality and areas of interest. Long- and short- term goals are discussed and developed to help the student make appropriate choices regarding his/her future.
Work Experience
This course is intended to help prepare each student for full-time employment and to learn to work with others in ways that are successful and rewarding. Enrolled students must secure employment, complete assigned projects, and maintain satisfactory ratings and verification of employment.
