Ramon Dourado is Chief Executive Officer of Futures In Education, Inc. Most recently, Mr. Dourado was Senior Vice President of Operations for Platform Learning Inc., an after-school tutoring company that served over 30,000 students throughout the USA. Prior to Platform, Mr. Dourado was Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Development for Edison Schools, the largest private manager of charter and traditional schools in the United States. Before joining Edison, Mr. Dourado was the Director of Operations and Development for LearnNow Inc., an education management company that managed 11 public and charter schools and public schools throughout the United States. Prior to LearnNow, Mr. Dourado was Director of Education for the Urban League of Pittsburgh, where he led a strategic community effort to launch successfully one of Pittsburgh’s first charter schools. Mr. Dourado was the Founding President of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Charter Schools and has previously served on the boards of local charter schools in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Dourado received a MS in Training and Development and a BS in Business Management from Clarion University. He has been actively involved in youth development and education reform throughout his career.
Stephen Mitchell is the Controller of Futures in Education, Inc. Mr Mitchell has significant experience in business development and finance including several years in education with La Petite Academy. He has recently spent some time consulting in New Zealand for various organizations. He previously worked as a Controller for Sodexho in Los Angeles and as a Director of Planning and Analysis for La Petite Academy in both Los Angeles and Chicago. Mr Mitchell received a BS in Business for California State University Long Beach.
Carrie Mulcahy is the Director of Marketing of Futures in Education, Inc. Most recently Ms. Mulcahy has owned and opereated a marketing consulting business serving a range of small to mid-size businesses in a number of industries, including education, pharmaceutical, logistics, venture capital and more. Prior to her consulting business, Ms. Mulcahy was the Director of Sales & Marketing for CorrectiveSolutions, an education program for those who chose diversion over possible prosecution of their misdemeanor offense. Before joining CorrectiveSolutions, Ms. Mulcahy spent eight years in a sales and sales management role in the nutritional and fragrance industries. Ms. Mulcahy received a BS in Consumer Affairs from The Ohio State University. Ms. Mulcahy is Co-Chair for Drive for a Cause, an organization supporting local Orange County causes.
Liz Halasz is Regional Director for Orange County. Liz’s career with Halstrom High School and Futures in Education, Inc. spans over 18 years. In 2005, Ms. Halasz served as CEO of Futures in Education, Inc. Prior to that, she was Executive Director of Halstrom High School from 2003-2005. From 1993-2003, Ms. Halasz was Halstrom High School Director. A native Californian, Ms. Halasz began her career in education at San Dimas Elementary and has been a teacher and administrator in California and Argentina. Throughout her career, she has volunteered with Project Read and the Women’s Crisis Center. Ms. Halasz graduated from California State University Fullerton with a BA in Education and earned her teaching credential from Chapman University.
Evelyn Nichols is Regional Director for San Diego. Ms. Nichols brings a wealth of experience to this role including over 6 years of teaching and community outreach, in addition to her work in marketing, sales, public relations and community organizing. Ms. Nichols has been an account executive with (W)right On Communcations, coordinator and unit chair for PROUAW and UAW 2865, PAL Program Administrator and Teaching Assistant with the UCSD Education Studies Department. Ms. Nichols earned an M.Ed., with special emphasis in Mathematics Education and English for Second Language Learners and a BA in Communications at the University of California San Diego. Ms. Nichols also obtained her teaching credential from UCSD.
Mark Barthelemy is Director of Operations of Futures in Education, Inc. Mr. Barthelemy was previously the Director of Strategic Development and Recruiting for Lourus, a K-12 educational services company based in Seoul, Korea. He has significant experience in business development, marketing and product development. Mr. Barthelemy has worked as an analyst and consultant for multi-nationals including Ernst & Young and Credit Lyonnais, and has played significant roles in business-to-consumer startups at all stages of financing and growth. Mr. Barthelemy received a BA in Economics from Northwestern University.
